From VPN capabilities to shared printers, DD-WRT offers a lot of valuable features that other router software sometimes lacks. One great feature is the ability to use it for NAS, or Network Attached Storage. However, there is one caveat.
I'm running DD-WRT v3.0-r40270M kongac (07/11/19) on an R6300v2 with a 1.5TB WD MyBook connected via USB and it works as a NAS quite nicely. Under the Services tab go to USB and enable Core USB Support, USB Storage Support, and Automatic Drive Mount. Jul 19, 2016 · Using DD-WRT for NAS. NAS is defined as Network Attached Storage. In essence, this means that by attaching an external hard-drive or USB stick to it, you'll be able to access all the files on it as long as your device is connected to the WiFi network.
